What is Meditation?
Meditation is practices and techniques that trains our brain to be more focused, engaged, and less reactive.
For me, meditation is exercise for the mind - the different workouts will bring different benefits to you mentally and emotionally.
There are a lot of physical, mental, and emotional benefits to practicing. Some reasons people meditate are:
- Improve sleep
- Train focus and increase productivity
- Manage stress; feel calmer and relaxed
- Mental clarity for decision making
- Increase creativity
There are different types of Meditation.
There is a misconception that meditation is just sitting with our eyes closed, and there is only that practice.
Actually there are different types of meditations just like there are different types of exercises.
You need to try them out to know what you enjoy more.
Just to name a few, there are breath, focus, sound, visual, and mindfulness practices.
What do I have to wear to practice meditation?
You can wear anything that you are comfortable in, preferably something loose (not tight).
There is no special clothing or accessories you need to wear.
